What do I need to bring for in-person events?

An open mind (leave any judgey pants at the door!) wear layers (the venue’s temperature can fluctuate), a journal for extra notes you may want to make and a water bottle.

What’s included for on-line events:

When’s the next on-line event?

Eight Sessions starting Wednesday 28th June 2023 thru Wednesday 16th August from 7.30pm-8.30pm NZT. A Zoom meeting link will be supplied after registration and payment has been received (payment plans available).

What do I need to bring for on-line events?

When I went on the Happy for No Reason course I was not sure what to expect.  I was pleasantly surprised at the inner calm, peace and happiness I felt from doing this course.  I really looked forward to each week’s session and learning more and practicing what I had learnt to raise my happiness without having to really do too much.  Carol provided many tools to use and made the course interesting, fun and relevant to what I needed. I love the 21 Happiness Habits and often refer to the A4 summary sheet on days or at times if I am not feeling great. Choosing a couple to focus on lifts my spirits and helps me shift my attention to what I do want to create in my life. I love learning about our brain and how our thoughts and feelings contribute to our behaviors, patterns, and relationships with ourselves and others. The exercises help you reflect and implement new changes and the book is a good reference to refer back to if you need a refresher. So much is packed into the course I first did it in early 2020 and repeated it in 2021. There are benefits to group learning so I would definitely do it again.

 Frequently Asked Questions

What’s best for me on-line or in-person?

All our in-person events are held in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. If you can make it to an in-person workshop its total immersion for one day. We suggest making a weekend of it, if you are visiting our gorgeous part of the country - thereby making a committment to yourself whole heartedly! However, if you find an online community works well for you or you live outside the region or country then online is the way to go. You will need to make a regular commitment by coming to the on-line sessions so you get the most from our time together. You also get to check in with the community and be held a bit more accountable for implementing your happiness habits over four or eight sessions.

Should I attend a full day, half day, one or two hour workshop and what’s the difference?

Full day workshops are designed to be intensive, immersive events. They are great if you can commit to a day out of your own life to work ON your life rather than working IN your life. Half day workshops are designed to help you commit to work in the morning and working on yourself in the afternoon or vice versa. Two and One hour workshops are designed for people on the go who can only commit to short bursts from work or home commitments. They are also designed to help you integrate each training into your everyday life. All workshops teach 21 happiness habits. Each module has three habits to learn and practice and the community becomes your accountability partners.

I consider myself fairly happy. Why do I need this course?

Having tools in your toolbox means you can use them when you aren’t feeling as good as you are right now. We all have times when life gives us challenges. These practical tools help and can be pulled out when you need them at whatever time you choose. It’s like having an insurance policy for your spirit. Sometimes it’s just nice to spend some time helping yourself instead of always helping others. And finally, why not spend some time with like-minded people who want to raise their happiness levels too?

I’m on medication for depression. Will this course help me?

As with any process, your commitment and time spent on learning the tools provided will bring about benefits. We don’t recommend coming off your medication without medical advice. We have found that people who commit to practicing the tools provided on a regular basis see results in their happiness levels either with or without medication.

I live with challenging people and people who are negative. If I learn this stuff will it help them?

The best reason to do anything is because you are drawn to it. Especially if you are drawn to something that you think will help someone else. The trick is realising that you can’t help anyone but yourself. And when you do help yourself you do end up helping others because the changes you make get reflected back to you. When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. There are no guarantees but by working on your own development you lead the way for others to consider doing this for themselves. When you start to feel better the things they do don’t seem to have the same impact as before.

Can I bring a friend with me and do you offer any discounts for that?

Yes you can bring a friend with you – the more the merrier if the spaces are available. We do offer a discount for two or more attending together. Please enquire about this.

I read the book “The Secret” when it first came out around 2006.  I found it fascinating.  It discusses the Law of Attraction, energy principals and how our thoughts affect our lives.  I’ve always been interested in what makes us tick – why do we do what we do and what’s our purpose?  I guess I’m what people call a seeker.  I love reading, learning and growing.  I love teaching people how to do the same. In 2017 I discovered Marci Shimoff.  She had written a book called “Happy For No Reason”.  I soon realised she had also featured in the book “The Secret” that had fascinated and intrigued me back in 2006.  I wanted to know more.  Long story short - I’m now one of her Happy For No Reason certified trainers from around the world.
